Hey We Got Here...

Hi Everybody-

Well, the whole team is finally here in China. Today seemed like about 3 days. Why? Because we did a lot of stuff. Despite my efforts to volunteer the team for an extra soccer clinic, we were more than happy to play tourist today, before flying off to Taiyuan tomorrow afternoon.

We started the morning with a few sprints up the Great Wall of China. It was the most difficult training of our entire lives. Just kidding! We walked around. Until we saw the Wall it was a bit difficult to shake the feeling that we were in China town instead of CHINA the country. Then we went shopping in the garment district which was quite the experience, wonderful if you enjoy bargaining, or being harassed or cornered in a stall where they REALLY wanted you to buy something. Needless to say, we did make some nice purchases and went on to see Tiannanmen square where we almost melted.

Oh... last night we ate Peking Duck. Hmmmmm. I did say ATE!

Tomorrow, Saturday morning we will finally have our first training session at the local field of dirt. I am sure we will attract a crowd. Our first game will be on Sunday and we are really looking forward to it.

Thanks again for all your support. I know a lot of the players have been figuring out the phone card situation, but everyone is safe and healthy and seems to be enjoying the experience. Your prayers are much coveted!

We're on the way. . . .

Can you believe it? It is time to hit the road, or in this case, hit the airplane. I head to Thailand with the first group. Be ready to have fun, enjoy the culture and food, and to share Jesus. See you soon and have a great trip. Don't forget to update your blog while you're there!
